if all the old hippies unload their guitars

from the bottoms of beds and the back seats of cars

the market will flood and the prices will sag

and the vintage collectors will think it's a drag



but those who use guitars and banjos as tools

and play mandolins for the kids in their schools

will welcome them back and will tune them up good

and coax out the tunes that lay deep in the wood
